As a fresh graduate looking for entry level college jobs, it may seem at times that you face an insurmountable task ahead of you.

The current unfavorable state of the economy in many parts of the world certainly does little to inspire confidence, and with thousands of people across the country losing their jobs, it would seem that finding good entry level college jobs is a hopeless endeavor.

However, you can take comfort in the fact that as a fresh college graduate, you have more than a few things going for you that many more established career professionals would envy.

You have youth on your side for starters, along with all the stamina, energy, fortitude, and sheer confidence–some would say arrogance–that this provides. That in itself is a considerable advantage, and should take you a long way in your quest for entry-level college jobs.

So where do you begin looking for these jobs? The classified ads listings in your town or city are an obvious choice, and you may be able to find at least a few prospects there worth checking out. Aside from that, there are a few other avenues uniquely available to you as a college student or fresh graduate.

With the end of the school season, you may have noticed the increase in job fairs in your town. This is a good place to find prospects, and they will offer the advantage of having a large number of prospective employers all gathered together in one place.

This will make it a lot easier for you to hone in on a few that pique your interest, and you will be able to avoid countless hours spent running around town chasing dead-end leads.

Another good place to check would be job placement organizations while you are still in school. Many of these organizations work with the support of prominent local employers, and they will usually have a good idea of what places are looking for applicants in your chosen field.

It may be a good idea to visit these organizations early on and make friends with the staff even if you have a while to wait before graduating. This will increase your chances of being remembered, and they will more likely give you a few leads when they come up.
